OUR
TEAMS Young people who become part of a team can accomplish extraordinary things. Every year, over 700 East Harlem youth between the ages of 6 and 18 play on a Harlem RBI Baseball, Softball, or Tee-ball Team. Harlem RBI provides each member of its 38 teams with uniforms, equipment, and a place to Play, Learn, and Grow. On Harlem RBI’s ball teams, youth learn leadership and communications skills, how to set and achieve goals, conflict resolution, and the values of teamwork and cooperation. Team members take turns acting as Team Captain, ensuring that all youth have the opportunity to exercise their leadership skills. Each team of 16-18 youth is coached by 3-5 trained volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds and professions.Harlem RBI offers kids much more than the opportunity to play ball. Harlem RBI is a year-round youth development program committed to equipping youth with the life skills necessary to realize their dreams. All youth enrolled in Harlem RBI's youth development program are required to play on a baseball, softball, or little league team. Depending on their age, youth play on one of 38 teams that comprise four leagues that are separated into seven divisions: The Rookie League - Coed tee-ball, ages 6-8 The REAL Kids League - Coed baseball & softball, ages 9-12 The Junior League - Boys' baseball & Girls' softball teams, ages 13-15 The Senior League - Boys' baseball & Girls' softball teams, ages 16-18 |
